1. Universities (Business Program)

2. Universities (Aviation Management)

Simulate offers a multitude of system set up configurations to enable the AIRLINE Online application to be used for general management studies in university as well as for aviation management studies. Students of Aviation Management will have more of an interest and need to understand the issues of maintenance scheduling where as the business students will not need to focus on the need for A Checks, B checks, C or D checks, the business and economics student will care more about the cost than anything else.

Universities (Business Program)

When it comes to learning business management skills, one of the best teachers is experience. At university level, the most effective way to expose students to the pressures and practices behind business making decisions is to simulate the corporate environment as realistically as possible. AIRLINE Online is a management simulation based around the planning, establishment and operation of an airline. Students will form management teams of 2-3 students with each student assuming responsibility for one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Scheduling
  • Business analysis
  • Procurement
  • Customer Service
  • Network Planning
  • Cargo

Each management team will take control of their own airline, placing each student in a position of responsibility from developing business plans, setting and adhering to budgets, fleet identification, equipment purchasing and fit out, marketing, through to analysis of financial and performance reports and evaluating their competition.

Each team is competing against each other and/or artificial airlines in a realistically simulated 'real world' environment. They will be competing for market share, customer satisfaction, profitability and ultimately towards meeting goals set in their business plans.

Alternatively, students can also engage in the simulation on an individual basis, taking charge of all business making decisions for their airline.

The simulation is designed not only to test student skill and technique, but also to foster a spirit of investigation, innovation and competition.

As an teacher, what control do I have?

Each environment comes complete with its own unique administrator control panel called the AIRLINE Online Manager or AOM. The AOM allows complete flexibility for a teacher to set up and configure all environmental variables so that you have full control over your environment.

Alternatively, there are pre configured scenarios available, tailored to the requirements and skill levels of students at undergraduate level allowing you to be ready to start with minimal set up time.

You can choose from a range of key performance indicators to measure the success of each company. These include Market Capitalisation, Market Share, Profit/Loss and Stock Value.

    Make learning fun, and easy.

AIRLINE Online runs completely online, over the internet. There is no software to install, and therefore no burden on your IT department. All you and your students require is a PC with access to the internet. We provide unlimited phone and email support for the duration of the simulation and assistance during set-up.

Most of all AIRLINE Online is a great way to incorporate the use of ICT technologies and skills into your classroom. The easy to use interface makes learning enjoyable and something your students will look back on fondly after they have completed your course.

AIRLINE Online are also extremely well suited to distance learning.

Where can I get additional help?

Included in the licence fee for each simulation, teacher's have access to an ever growing inventory of example lesson plans, assessment tasks and a community of past and present teachers who are only too happy to share their experiences with you.
